The harder the core the better.
These unique Famus wheels might be the fastest wheels on the market. The Famus Metal Core Wheels 60mm are the first mass-produced metal core inline wheels to our knowledge, With the boom in scooter wheels made in this manner, it makes total sense for inline wheels to have a metal core.
The 60mm wheels are surprisingly lightweight and come in at 88a hardness, the idea of the metal core is to retain speed and have a better energy transfer.
These are ideally used for park and ramp skating, not street.
Famus are wheels made by the french company South corner.Make sure that the diameter is correct for your type skate, the width of inline skate wheels are always the same, If you are not sure these wheels will fit your skate, you can always contact us
Having a metal core means the bearings will need to be tapped in with a rubber mallet. Please use a bit of cardboard between the bearing and the rubber mallet so that you don't damage the bearing. We'd advise using some grease on the inner of the core to help get the bearing in. We'd also advise using the flying saucer-shaped spacers so the spacer doesn't jump out of place when hammering. You can make this process easier by pouring hot water on the wheel core and keeping the bearings in the freezer prior to insertion (see video). The bearings will also be much harder to remove than plastic core wheels, so do this with caution, or consider replacing the wheels and bearings at the same time.More information about wheels in general here:
